Silencers provide a technical solution for handling air borne noise.
Noise reduction is achieved by tunneling the air between structures with noise absorbing propeties. These structures are usually constructed from a galvanized metal frame and an internal mineral wool filling covered by perforated metal sheets.
Air passage through absorbing structures reduces noise levels depending on length of silencer and denseness of structures.
Criteria for selecting the type and silencer model depend on the following:
A. Installation procedure: location limits and silencing requirements (square silencer, circular silencer, acoustic shutters, acoustical labyrinth).
B. Matching the air flow through the silencer and pressure drop limits (length and height of silencer) while taking into account the possible sizes and existing openings.
C. Noise reduction required depending on the settings and standards (length of the silencer, model).
